Former Florida State star safety and Rhodes Scholarship winner Myron Rolle and his family announced plans to build the Myron L. Rolle Medical Clinic and Sports Complex in the Bahamas. He was born in the U.S. but his parents and three of his brothers were born in the Bahamas.
"I have always thought of the Bahamas as my second home,'' Rolle said.
A capital campaign is underway for funding through the non-profit Myron L. Rolle Foundation. The complex will provide free health services to residents of Exuma and wellness and training facilities for athletes and visitors to Exuma. The FSU College of Medicine and the Bahamas’ Ministry of Health will be involved. Rolle, who plans to become a doctor, eschewed the NFL draft to study at Oxford this year.
